He begins with the engraving Three totems, 1986, integrating fully in this means that will accompany him and combine in his career. He showed from this first engraving his capacity of reinventing his personal language and discover means to show us it and surprise us. Frequent visitor to the workshop ever since, manufactures a collection of engravings like Wall, 1989, of 1 x 2 metres; Series Maclas, 1992; Series Ancestors; Series Reunion. Important are his books of bibliophile, where the artist joins poets and men of letters, with whom he achieves to make himself understood and create: José Carlos Llop, Joan Brossa, José Ángel Valente, Friedhem Mennekes, Jochen Winter. Awarded at international level as engraver. |

Jose Pedro Croft. Oporto, 1957. Sculptor, engraver, sketcher. He engraves his first editions in 1990 and since then and regularly he makes at his workshop some series of engravings in which he influences and lets get influenced with his sculptures and drawings. Although his beginnings were marked by a conceptual language, he keeps own discovering his own methods, between sculpting and engraving techniques on metal, recovering the gestures from his first works and opening to colours. He's got bibliophile editions with texts from people near his life and work. |

Joan Barbarà. Barcelona, 1927. Barcelona, 1927. Master and engraving artist, apart from painter and draftsman, he creates his first atelier at 23. When he turns 30, in Paris, he creates with Lluís Bracons L’Átelier de Recherches Plàstiques et Téchniques Calcographiques , where he begins a great friendship and cooperation with Dalí and Miró, working in the calcographic ateliers in this city. IN 1966, in Barcelona, he directs the ateliers in Ediciones La Cometa, where artists like Picasso, Hartung, Fontana, Tàpies and Chillida engrave. Together with this task of cooperation with other artists´editions, he shows his work in galleries and museums. He exhibits Suite Bodegones in the Maeght gallery, with catalogue and schedule across Europe. Serie Negre sobre Negre, catalogue Fundación Miró and schedule. Bibliophile and suite of engravings and drawings of big dimensions; Empúries, inici d’un retorn, scheduled across the Mediterranean, with catalogue and facsimile of the book. Méditérrani, obra gràfica. Museu de les Drassanes. Bibliophile book de Paris-Olot; Premio Fundación Olot. Member of the Reial Academia de Sant Jordi, he receives awards and homages in several countries. |
